Germany's Solar Mounting System Bidding Scale Will Increase To 6GW In 2022

Data:2021-04-28

The German Major League has agreed to increase the bid volume for photovoltaic power generation in 2022 from the planned 1.9GW to 6GW. Wind power generation will increase from 2.9 gigawatts to 4 gigawatts. This is undoubtedly an opportunity for solar mounting bracket manufacturers such as CHIKO Solar.

Germany's Solar Mounting System Bidding Scale Will Increase To 6GW In 2022

Due to the growing demand for clean and sustainable energy and the increasing degree of urbanization, the solar mounting structure market is expected to gain tremendous growth momentum.

In addition, the EEG (Renewable Energy Law) taxation will also be stabilized in 2023 and 2024, funded by the federal budget, which was previously agreed for 2021 and 2022. The German Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmeier said that in 2023 and 2024, the maximum can reach 5 cents per kilowatt-hour.

The German Solar Energy Industry Association (BSW) welcomes the goal of increasing the number of solar mounting expansions during this legislative period. However, the one-time increase of 4 gigawatts is too low. BSW called for quadrupling the installed capacity of solar panel brackets by 2030 and amending the Renewable Energy Law. Recently, the European Union reached an agreement on stricter climate targets, requiring Germany to increase its photovoltaic power generation capacity by about 10 GW each year.

The solar mounting system is used to install photovoltaic modules on the ground, exterior walls, buildings, roofs and other building structures. The materials used in these systems usually depend on the climate.

As early as the beginning of 2020, CHIKO Solar has developed and used a new type of material-magnesium-aluminum-zinc solar racking for power station systems. This kind of material is more economical and cost-effective, lighter in weight, and better in terms of wind resistance performance compared to the expected galvanized steel and aluminum alloy.

Earlier, the German Federal Cabinet approved amendments to the "Renewable Energy Law" aimed at achieving its goal of increasing the proportion of renewable energy to 65% by 2030.

The German Renewable Energy Federation (Bundesverband Erneuerbare Energie, BEE) also welcomed the alliance's agreement to increase bids for wind and solar energy. However, the organization stated that this does not replace the requirement in the Renewable Energy Law to quickly adjust the amount and path of renewable energy expansion in accordance with European climate protection goals before 2030. BEE emphasized that Germany needs to increase its photovoltaic installed capacity to 205GW and wind energy installed capacity to 95GW.

In addition, the current power market design issues are still unresolved. Although the cost of renewable energy power generation has fallen, the renewable energy surcharge is still rising. It is not enough to continue to limit EEG surcharges; the top priority is still to fundamentally adjust the current power market design and renewable energy, and solve the restructuring of taxes, levies and surcharges.

CHIKO Solar has been focusing on manufacturing and designing solar mounting systems for more than 10 years. CHIKO products have been installed and used in more than 120 countries and regions, with a cumulative installed capacity of more than 15GW.
