What is the direct cause of insulation failures?
The inverter will detect the insulation resistance of the DC side battery board and the ground when it works. If the insulation resistance is not up to the inverter setting, the inverter will stop generating electricity for safety reasons and avoid danger
What causes the inverter to report an insulation fault?
  • DC connector immersion;
  • The DC cable is broken and connected with the solar brackets
  • Photovoltaic panels and solar brackets are not grounded properly.
  • The PV module is damaged        
 
How to troubleshoot and restore the inverter to grid connection?
First of all, We can use the grid connected mode which battery stack to connect the inverter to determine the fault in which group of string, and then go to the battery board investigation one by one.
Second,after you have determined the fault group string, follow these steps to troubleshoot it:
  • Check the connector among the battery panels and find out the flooding condition. Turn off the DC switch of the inverter first.Do not touch the flooded connector directly with your hands. Use a dry branch or other insulator to remove the connector from the water, remove the water, and return the inverter to the DC power supply after troubleshooting
  • When the DC cable is found damaged, disconnect the inverter DC switch first and contact the installer to replace the cable in time. Found that the battery board or solar.     
  • Solar brackets grounding is not strong enough, contact the installer in time to do reinforcement
  • If the components are damaged, disconnect the inverter DC switch and contact the installer to replace the components
How to avoid the insulation failures of PV modules and solar brackets?
  • 1)When fixing the battery board, be careful not to press the DC cable under the edge of the battery board. Otherwise,In the huge tightening pressing block when the pressure, DC cable insulation layer will be crushed. resulting in direct contact with the DC cable core and the solar bracket. 
  • 2)When grounding the system, make sure the bracket and each battery board are well grounded to the ground 
  • 3)DC line, avoid wiring on the ground, to prevent cable flooding.
